Keita developed a passion for preventative health and wellness after working in the employee benefits arena for over 12 years. She had the opportunity to work with employers and their employees who were struggling with both chronic health conditions and terminal illness. It was then that she realized the benefits of investing in “the front end” of healthcare and finding ways to enhance healthy living, caring for our physical, emotional and mental health. Keita has practiced yoga for over 10 years and her interest in yoga grew after having the opportunity to take classes from Brant Rogers at Yoga Hillsboro in Hillsboro, Oregon. It was at that point that Keita realized her passion for yoga and preventative health could come together. As a mother of two young sons she saw the gift that the yoga philosophy had in her own life, connecting mind, body and spirit. She is now able to connect her committment and intention for health opportunities to her teaching and practice. Keita received her B.A. in Behavioral Psychology from Western Michigan University and has completed her 200 hour RYT (Registered Yoga Teacher) Certificate with YogaFit in 2011. She looks forward to seeing the Mind & Body Room be a success that can be enjoyed by the community for years to come.
